Is King Apple Strong having a love affair?

Elodie, who is the owner of one of the fashion shops in Upper Branch Road Leafenheim, claims that she has seen King Apple Strong walking hand in hand with a dark lady in the Queen's Garden, outside Apple Hold Castle. A representative of the royal court obstinately denies the rumors!

The Blue Bells Inn is undergoing a restoration of the all the rooms.

So far five rooms have been opened to the public. During the restoration of the lobby, some old wall paintings were revealed behind some layers of paint on the stone wall at the back. The paintings are to be restored, and The Nidlongdir Post is proud to be able to give you a preview of the old wall paintings! Research into the history of the paintings is currently taking place at The Whispering Library. Bibi Blue Bell, the owner of the Blue Bells Inn, hopes that there might be some prior studies, and perhaps more information about the two fairies featured on the wall. Bibi Blue Bell thinks they could be paintings of the first owner of the inn, Elyra Blue Bell, and her Elven husband Prince Blue Ash, but it's only a guess!

The Harvest Celebration

The Harvest celebration of Leafenheim will take place at the next full moon. The celebration starts at The Blue Bells Inn, where you are invited into the lobby for a mug of chilli tea, with milk and syrup, to make your singing voice beautiful for the singing of the seven harvest songs at Apple Hold Castle. King Apple Strong will read the blessings of the harvest, and after that he will lead the singing of the seven harvest songs outside Apple Hold Castle. Last year many of the young male fairies who join the celebration, had forgotten to wear a proper leaf wreath, this will not be tolerated at this year's celebration! The women joining the celebration should wear proper leaf masks, and have their hair braided with at least twelve kinds of flowers! The guards of Apple Hold Castle ask you to leave your wand at home! After the singing of the seven harvest songs, there will be a parade through Upper Branch Road, the parade will start at Apple Hold Castle, and end at the Apple Blossom Stairs, where the ten largest apples from this year's harvest will be exhibited, starting with the biggest apple on the first stair! As usual the biggest apple will be awarded with the Apple Star Ribbon.  After the official harvest ceremonials the harvest games will take place in The Queen's Garden behind Apple Hold Castle!

Two New Knights

The White Lizards have knighted two new members. The new knights are Sir Valur and Lady Dhara. Sir Valur was knighted for his heroic acts in the hunt of the dragon eggs in the Dragonian Caves. Lady Dhara, who is also the royal shaman of Nidlongdir, was knighted for her great work saving five rare plants in Nidlongdir. Both knights received a white lizard and the right to speak at the King's court!

The OFN Orphanage

Mama Kauppa, who recently founded the Order of a Free Nidlongdir, also called the OFN, is now on the official list of wanted persons at Apple Hold Castle. She has returned to Dragonia where she will be protected by the Dragonian Gathering. The gathering has offered her their official support, and granted her a cave in the Dragonian tunnel to open an orphanage for the abandoned Children of Leafenheim City. The OFN Orphanage will open when the first night frost has come. The orphanage will give fairies, gnomes and humans the possibility to adopt some of the abandoned children. It has been decided that in order to adopt, you will have go through a test to show that you are able to take proper care of  the children you may wish to adopt. In most cases you will have to agree to take on a set of twins, because it is in the best interest of twins to grow up together! The opening of The OFN Orphanage has created some diplomatic problems between King Apple Strong's Court and The Dragonian Gathering. King Apple Strong's Court denies that there is a serious problem with abandoned children, and has threaten to deny the Dragonian Ambassador access to Apple Hold Castle. Although the King's Court has protested against the orphanage, Mama Kauppa says that she has received a great deal of support from citizens of Leafenheim, and she had a very large donation of apple juice from an anonymous donator.

The Kaput Caves open for trade with Humans!

The Kaput Caves in Dragonia have only been open to official Kaput Traders of Dragonia so far, but the Gathering has decided to give humans permission to enter the caves by the start of the winter season. This decision was taken to give humans a better understanding of recycling, and the craft of recycling. Trandill, the foreman of the Kaput Caves, hopes that the opening of the caves will result in more trading, and that the Dragonians will be able to get more rare kaputs like golden plastic bags, brown glass and copper buttons.

The Dragonian Celebration of the Harvest

The Gnomes Inn will be celebrating the harvest with free tree juice, and the traditional Hopsa Dance contest. Hopsa is a gnomish dance, but all inhabitants of Dragonia are welcome to join the contest. This celebration will take place on the first full moon, after the first night of frost. If you would like to join the traditional jumping pancake hunt, the innkeeper will sign you up for the hunt. Last year there was some cheating! You are not permitted to let your pet frog catch the pancakes for you, and magic jumping boots are also not allowed!

Nidlongdir Whisperings

My name is Plotka Hildur. I was born inside a pear in Leafenheim City, and currently live in an apartment under the roof of The Nidlongdir Post. I have been working at this newspaper since I was old enough to become a leaf runner. I worked my way up to get a job as reporter, and now I also write for the human magazine Faezine.

I am not yet married. When not working I spend most of my time home in the Dragonian Caves, where I grew up with my foster mother Mama Kauppa, or I go to the Whispering Library to relax.

As a Dragonian fairy I strongly believe in recycling! I support the new Order of a Free Nidlongdir, also called the OFN. This order tries to help abandoned children and trolls in Nidlongdir. I also support the WSPA - World Society for the Protection of Animals.
