The Forest and Edgar Noddle

Over the hills and far to the north of Scotland, where the mountains touch the sky and the stars come down to bathe in the lochs, there is a Forest ancient and deep as night.
Gnomes of Blaeberry Glen & Wee Highland Snippets
"My mother told me that I was born with a pointed head which apparently even the nurses remarked upon. There was a fey quality about my mother, with her long golden hair, enigmatic smile and faraway eyes.
I grew up believing in fairies, elves and mermaids."
Born in 1959 Suzanne grew up in the magical landscape of southwest Wales, retaining her childhood beliefs. With a passion both for nature and art she went on to gain a BSc in Botany intending to work for nature conservation. However, although she has worked in a variety of jobs including nature conservation, her creative side gradually took precedence...
She now lives in the enchanted rural Highlands of Scotland behind a thorny hedge of wild rose and brambles, with her son, three cats and at least seven gnomes.
Suzanne has been a member of Enchanted Folk since September 2007

The garden is full of blossom, all pale pink and gold - daffodils, wild cherry and the drift of Ladies' Smock that grows under the birches at the bottom of the garden. I have seen the first butterflies of the year, the Peacock and Small Tortoiseshell, a welcome sight after the winter.

It had been a busy summer in the garden at Blaeberry Glen. Work in the garden had kept the gnomes busy from dawn till dusk and sometimes In-between. 'In-between', in fact, is often the busiest time for the gnomes as that is when all sorts of wild creatures visit or pass by in their secret lives.

When I first read some years ago in a magazine about mysterious Orbs showing in digital photographs, I have to confess that although intrigued I also felt skeptical.

Twilight deepens around me as I wander in the garden. A gentle breeze ruffles the leaves whispering lullabies. Fragrance wafts from the buddleias, a sweet warmth I can almost feel against my skin as I step between the bushes.

In the summer dusk, starlight glimmers from the wings of tiny white moths, which rise from the lawn as I walk.
