Miss MerFaery - From the Faerie Witch's Kitchen

Louise is a happy little free spirit who grew up by the southeast English sea and now lives in Cheshire with her beloved fiance John, where she enjoys rambling through the old streets of Chester and musing amongst the blackbirds and squirrels by the ruins of the old Gothic church.

She has lived in the magic since childhood, having always believed most fervently in faeries, unicorns and angels, and loves nothing more than to write, create, read and daydream.

You are most likely to find her under a favourite tree, talking to the birds, watching the ocean or working on a new fantastical project.

Louise is a writer and artist, with a forthcoming educational book, numerous articles out there on the web, and a plethora of ideas and dreams for future faerie crafts and fantasy novels, if she ever gets that oh so precious time...

Louise has been a member of Enchanted Folk since June 2008

Step into my kitchen, and rest a while your weary feet at my humble table. Breathe in the scent of drying herbs and freshly baked bread, and enjoy a sip of restorative nettle tea!

The Stirring of New Life

The Stirring of New Life

Tue, Jun 30, 2009

The tendrils of summer have finally touched upon our realm of oak and hazel, and while the sun beats down on our beautiful garden, blackbirds dance and sing, and the robin darts from fence to bush to tree, and the flowers sway happily in the gentle breeze. And as the warmth and the flowers and the grass each grow, so too does the promise of new life within my belly; our new little miracle.

On the Trail of Cornish Faeries: Part 1

On the Trail of Cornish Faeries: Part 1

When thinking of Cornish faeries, the first thing that comes to mind is, of course, the Cornish Piskie. But there is much more to the realms of Cornish Faerie than that. Cornwall is a part of England steeped in myth and folklore, with deep Celtic and Pagan roots and a Faery Faith that is still very much alive today.

Well, I am slightly larger than the last time I sat down and wrote for Faezine! Tummy was measuring 29cm at 28 weeks (am now at 30 weeks!) and we are due a midwife home visit in about a week or so. In a month's time we will have reached the safe zone of 34 weeks and will be able to discuss a home birth!

Exploring the Stone Circles of Cornwall

Exploring the Stone Circles of Cornwall

Wed, Sep 30, 2009

During our recent holiday to Cornwall, my partner and I were lucky enough to pay a visit to several of the incredible, ancient stone circles that are in abundance in this part of England. When thinking of the ancient standing stones, one immediately thinks of Stonehenge or those at Avebury. However, Cornwall has a plethora of ancient circles and megaliths that are well worth visiting in their own right.
