Embracing Other Realms
Ailynari currently lives in a teensy river house in Indiana. She shares her home with numerous dried gourds, two dogs, a ghost kitty, and all manner of Fae folk. The gourds have their own room.
She sometimes feels she communicates better with animals and the Fae than humans, although she is working on this.

Gourds speak to me. The first time it happened was at the market when I was a little girl. They were small gourds, just the right size to hold in my little hand. Oh the shapes, colors, patterns and textures! There were vibrant orange ones with dark green stripes. Some were smooth and buttery yellow. There were speckled ones and nubby ones.

I realize there are many members of Enchanted Folk who have had personal experiences with the Fae. I also know there are quite a few of you who channel faeries through your art, music or writing. Now, I would not tell this story to just anybody, but I know you Believe.

There is nothing I like better on a freezing winter night than curling up in a cozy chair near a crackling fire with a book in hand. All the better if it is a wonderfully illustrated book of fairy tales.

Some of you might have read my blog post last summer about the weird experience I had while walking along the river trail. I had discovered a spot in the river where the water was completely still.

I smiled as I dug my jangling cell phone out of my purse and saw Alex’s name on the display. Alex and I have been friends for simply forever, and I never tire of his silly stories and warm-hearted laugh.
